Wooden barn doors are a practical solution with great aesthetic appeal.
Sliding along a track on the wall, our barn doors are the ideal space-saving design for small rooms, tight hallways, and bathrooms where floor space is limited. These can also be designed to create wider doorways, improving accessibility.
A bespoke barn door acts as a significant design element and focal point in a room, adding character and warmth. We have a wide range of timber to choose from, meaning our doors can be customised to fit various interior styles such as modern, industrial, or contemporary.

Things to consider
Timber
Macrocarpa and poplar are our most popular and cost-effective options, but we have a wide range of timber to select from. All of our timber is NZ-grown and sustainably harvested.
Dimensions
We will need to know the height and width of your barn door. The thickness is generally set at 44mm. As a general rule for sliding doors, take the measurements of the opening and add 50mm to the height, and 100mm to the width to ensure an even overlap.
Bracing style
Our standard barn door design uses a horizontal cross piece, and your choice of 'Z' pattern or 'arrow' pattern diagonals.
Panelling width
Our panelling is run in two sizes – 130mm wide and 85mm wide. We think narrower boards are best suited to narrower boards, and wider boards for wider doors – but this is completely up to you.
